The aim of the project is to build a water collection system on the isle of Urong, one of the islands in the Casamance river, where there is no running water, and often the water is not fit for human consumption. With this project, we will try to provide sufficient water so that the population does not have to travel great distances by boat or on foot to carry water to the village, so they can have a minimum of hygiene, as well as enough water to cultivate rice.

The atmospheric water collection tower traps the relative humidity in the atmosphere using a textile net; then, by condensation, it causes water to drip into a large receptacle. The water collected in the receptacle can be supplied daily to the village, and any leftover can be used for agriculture.

This project is at a very early stage, and we wish to develop it in the future.
